You stand in a vast, grand hall decorated with pillars of solid marble, painted with pure gold. Growing up each pillar are vines and trellises with beautiful blooming flowers.
The roof of the hall is made of glass, like a greenhouse, and you find you are sweating in the sweltering heat. In the midst of all the life is a bush, branches growing in a tangled mess. It is grand beyond scale, but you see that its leaves are turning brown and falling off, even as you stand and watch.
At the far end of the hall is a velvet throne encrusted with a rainbow of precious stones. On the throne sits Queen Thalia. She is slumped over, tapping her fingers and glancing around.
Would you like to [[approach the Queen?|Queen]] Or will you [[Leave]]?
The Queen looks up as she hears your footsteps across the marble, and you notice her eyes are watery and grey.
"[[What's your name]]?" She asks.

The Queen responds to your question;
"You see, the palace has always been full of life, and for generations we have grown and cultivated a myriad of plants. None more special than that of the raspberry, the national plant, featured on every insignia and sigil. The same bush has been kept alive for generations, right here in this hall. A few weeks ago, much to the despair of the royal gardener and myself, it started to wither! We're afraid it's dying. I don't know what to do!"
Will you offer to [[help the Queen]] or [[leave?]]
You offer your services to the Queen, who responds with glee.

The rabbit and the hedgehog look at each other in annoyance and start bickering again.
"I told you it was too easy!"
"No you didn't!"
"Liar!"
The door swings open by itself, and you step inside into a gloomy [[hallway]].
The oak tree towers above you, wider than you can fit your arms around and taller than all the other trees in the forest.
Its branches are withered and gnarled and it looks as if it might go up for miles.
Someone has carved a door into the base of the tree. In front of the door you can see a [[hedgehog and a rabbit]]. They are squabbling and bickering, and the sound of their argument pounds your eardrums.
You feel brave enough to go in, despite the eerie lighting. The hallway is dotted with little crevices, and inside each is a jar of fireflies that provide light enough to see.
A spiral staircase swirls up the centre of the tree trunk.
You put your foot on the first step, but immediately hit into something and bounce backward. A disembodied voice says;
"Password?"(colour:#ebfffd)[[$password]<fname|]

"How dare you!"
They don't seem to notice as you approach.
"Excuse me," [[You say]].
"Why, what have you done?" replies the rabbit.
"Can't you see we're busy here?" asks the hedgehog.
"Whatever, you were clearly going to lose anyway." the rabbit says.
"No I wasn't!"
"Oh yeah?!"
They start bickering all over again. You notice that there is a sign on the door behind them.

The sign reads;
Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays: Rabbit speaks the truth, Hedgehog lies.
Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays: Hedgehog speaks the truth, Rabbit lies.
"That is correct. Politeness will get you everywhere. Proceed."
You step up onto the spiral staircase again, and find that this time you are able to walk up it with ease.
At the top of the staircase is another [[door]] with a [[cabinet]] beside it.
You look around at the hallway for some help. There are three stone pillars, each one has a marble head on it.
There is another sign hanging by the spiral staircase.

You nod, and the spirit smirks.
"Well, I wish you luck then. Or, rather, I wish you //brains//. You're going to need it. Speak to [[Owl and Squirrel]], they have the puzzle. If you solve it, I'll give you the magic word."
Owl and Squirrel come clambering out of the woodwork at the mention of their names.
"I'm telling you, it was in June!"
"No, no, her birthday is in June. The ceremony is in July!"
"Or was it August?"
"Well..."
You [[approach them]].
"Are you here to help us with the riddle?"
You nod.
"Oh, goodie! I want to make sure I don't miss the jubilee!"
The spirit wanders over.
"These two have misplaced their invitation to Queen Thalia's jubilee; it's the fifth anniversary of her coronation, and these idiots have forgotten when it is. So, in punishment, I'm going to give them some clues and make them work it out. //You// will be needing to solve it too, or else no magic word."
He bends over and whispers in Owl's ear, then turns to Squirrel and does the same.
"Now Owl knows only the month of the party, and Squirrel knows only the date. I'll give you a list of possible dates, but that's it. You have to work it out for yourselves."
