You are an inexperienced Patriot soldier, fighting the British. You are in New York with General Washington, your idol and hero, although he has a very short temper. As you stand in New York, you see hundreds of British ships coming to take the city, and two thoughts cross your mind:to [[run]], or to [[stay and fight]].
(if: $rock is 0)[You run and run, until you're so tired that you can't go any farther. You are near the area where the British attacked, and see [[something blue]].] (if: $illuminati1 is 0)[As you run away from the British fleet, you trip over a small triangular rock. It was sticking out of the ground, protruding from the worn bricks. Your head smashes against the ground. Luckily, you are okay. However, [[the triangular rock]] has picked up your interest. You've never seen a rock that has a blue tint to it.] (if: $illuminati is 1)[You run and run, out of fear and out of depression. Your men have deserted you! Eventually, you hear voices. They sound like army voices, and could belong to the minutemen! You could [[approach]] them, or you could [[hide]].]
British redcoats surround you. George Washington and the rest of your comrades are outnumbered. Washington yells, "Retreat! Follow me!" As you run, you see your best friend, Daniel, who you spent your childhood days with, being attacked by British soldiers, with no one to [[save him]]. You could also just ignore it and [[keep retreating]].
As you analyze the triangular rock, you notice that an eye is in the center of the "rock". Once noticed, you realize that it is not a rock. It is a blue metal! The [[eye]] seems to shine brightly.
The eye glows with an eerie light. You want to [[touch the eye]], or you could just [[keep running]]. However, your curiosity about the triangle and eye grows. (if: $illuminati1 is 1)[You think it's another triangle thing, but you want to just [[keep running]]. Or, alternatively, you could [[touch the eye]].]
Boldly, you rush back and raise your musket, ready to fire and save Daniel. However, the British have better weaponry, and fire at your chest. In pain and agony, your last living moments are spent watching your best friend die and fall to the ground, alone.
You keep running. You feel that your own life is worth more than your friend's. You concentrate on staying with General Washington's men when you hear a gunshot, and something falling to the ground. Looking back, you see the dead body of your best friend, with a gunshot in his chest. A look of fear is permanently plastered on his face. You [[keep following Washington]].
Running frantically, you follow Washington for a long time until you reach a river. It's hard to see because of the fog, but you go across with some fishermen and escape. Washington says to start making a [[camp]] for the men.
You press your finger against the glowing eye. The eye suddenly turns red and a robotic monotone states, "We are watching. We are always watching. Do not interfere. Termination beginning." Suddenly, out of the eye's pupil, a red laser shoots out at you, exploding your body into flames. All you feel is pain as you die instantly. After your death, all that's left of you is a pile of ashes, and even that, with all of your memory, is swept away by the wind.
You run, your cowardice gettting the better of you. However, you trip over the triangular metal piece and fall, dislodging [[the triangular metal eye thing]] from the ground, and rocks fly. You can grab a [[rock]], but it will hurt your hand.
You decide to pick up the triangular metal eye thing. (set: $illuminati to 1) Surprisingly, it is quite light. You grab it with one hand and [[continue running]]. (set: $rock to 1)
(You now have the //Blue Illuminati Stone//)
<img src="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/0e/1a/40/0e1a4013653102a714d78714255f2f6e.jpg" width="200" height="100">
(if: $illuminati is 1)[You stumble into a camp, where George Washington and your army mates are. You look for your best friend, Daniel, and realize he is not there. You decide to [[ask about Daniel]].] (if: $illuminati is not 1)[Following General Washington's orders, you [[set up camp]] with your men.] <endif>
"Daniel was slain by the British", explained one of the men. "One man tried to save his life, and perished." Your eyes fill with tears, and you [[sit down]].
Setting up the camp, you see a German mercenary. He must have gotten here before you did! You need to [[fire at him]], or you could [[chase him]], because he might attack!
You keep running away from the British, for a very long time. Eventually, you see a river and hear breathing. You think you've found a [[camp]]. (if: $illuminati1 is 1)[You run some more until you find a large stone structure. It has a [[massive triangular hole]] in its huge marble door.]
To rest yourself, you sit down, and notice a Hessian. He must have been spying for the British! Their insolence disturbs you. He could report back to the British! You need to [[chase him]], before he gets back. It seems hard to chase him, however, and if you [[fire at him]] it could be better.
You pull out your musket, and [[fire]].
Although the paid soldier is fast, you are faster. As a young child, you would always race your friend Daniel, who was quite fast. Unfortunately, Daniel was not fast enough to escape the British. But you don't want more to die the way Daniel did. You catch up with the Hessian and tackle him to the ground, knocking him unconscious. Then you toss his body into the river, because he has too much information. But, as you leave, you notice a triangle sticking out of the ground. It is made of a green metal, and has an eye on it. You look at it, and the eye is glowing. (if: $illuminati is 1)[It looks very similar to the blue one, but is different at the same time.]You can [[touch the eye]], or [[take the triangle]].
The musket misfires, shooing right into your chest. Your bloodstained clothes stand out from the mushy ground, but as you fall, and the Hessian escapes, you know you have failed your country.
(if: $illuminati is 0)[You pick it up. (set: $illuminati1 to 1)It is quite light, and you feel like you only have a piece of something larger. You now have a set of them, and want to [[go back to the camp]].]
(You now have the //Green Illuminati Stone//.)
<img src="http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/villains/images/7/78/Illuminati-Logo.png/revision/latest?cb=20150529234113" width="100" height="100">
You search for hours, but come up empty. Tired and hungry, you [[go back to the camp]].
Bringing the green triangle with an eye on it with you, you go back to the camp to find that it is gone. Washington and his men must have left! You're alone, and just want to run and [[leave]] this horrible place.
You [[run]].
Walking over to the shiny blue item, you see it is triangular rock. It may be another triangle, but you can't be sure. It does have a small [[eye]], however.
It seems to have three triangular indentations where something must fit, and your metallic colored triangles look as though they might fit. They seem to vibrate in your pockets, and you see a [[circle]] underneath you. This is a mysterious place! You think you should just [[ignore]] the temple.
The circular shape is now glowing, but faintly. 1/3 of it is glowing green, 1/3 of it is glowing blue, and 1/3 of it is not glowing, but it seems red. You think that the colors represent the triangles, and the last one is a [[red triangle]].
A strange feeling engulfs you, like you are drawn to a magnet. Walking aimlessly, you search for a red item, while keeping the location of the temple in your mind. You think that you have been lead on a wild goose chase and want to [[give up]], but you do see a glimpse of [[something red]].
Filled with excitement, you look at the red thing, and find that its just a fallen cranberry from a plant. You can [[give up]] now, or continue [[searching]]. Alternatively, though, you could [[pick up the cranberry]].
Forgetting the existence of the temple completely, you realize the giant mistake that you've made. You have left Washington and your comrades and have abandoned all hope of finding them. You still could try and [[find them]], or you could inspect that [[hole]] off to your far left.
You give up, and hear voices. Faint, but they sound like army ones. You follow the voices and try to [[find them]].
The seemingly interminable trek through the cold slowly chipped away at your strength and confidence. After hours of walking and searching, you hear voices clearly. "Halt! March!" you hear. It doesn't sound like Washington, though. You could [[hide]], if you think it's not the minutemen, or you could go and [[approach]] them. It fills you with glee to think you may be a soldier again, and be part of a team!
You believe that the British ransacked your camp, and the men may be hiding. That hole is a perfect hideout! You run over to the hole, and realize that your men could not have hid in there. It's way too deep! Then, suddenly, you see some kind of animal, and you get startled. Losing your balance, you trip and fall into the hole, feeling intense pain when you hit the bottom. You can barely see the opening! Cold and hungry, you slowly die of starvation as you feel pain for the last couple hours of your life. After you lose the will to live, you die, and your body will remain in the hole forever.
You come up empty. Everywhere you've looked has brought up no red triangles. You end up near a mysterious building, so you may be near New York. It doesn't look like a New York building though. You now realize it would be a good idea to look for Washington and his men and [[find them]].
The cranberry is smushed between your fingers as you pick it up. However, you see the cranberry plant, and take a bunch of them. Then you keep [[searching]]. (set: $cranberries to 1)
(You now have some //Cranberries//)
<img src="http://gsoextracts.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/cranberries.jpg" width="100" height="100">
Ducking behind a bush, you make a slight ruffling noise and realize the army was the redcoats! Good thing you hid! You need to escape, and you see a [[mysterious building]] that looks like it is an extension of the temple before. This time, though, the doors look like they can be opened. You can [[escape]]! But the redcoats are coming closer, and it seems like the only way out is to [[shoot them]] and attack!
"Sir! General Washington! I'm here!" you shout, and realize you're shouting at a bunch of redcoats! They scream and fire, and you get hit in the arm. You're bleeding! You need to [[get out]]!
You slowly tiptoe over to the door stealthily, and accidentally step on a twig. The loud snap alerts the redcoats, and before you can even jump to the door, you get shot in the chest. Death overcomes you and you never see George Washington, the man you were looking for, ever again in your life.
Yelling loudly, you fire and fire, barely missing some and killing others. The element of surprise is your ally, but it seems to be wearing off. A redcoat's lucky shot hits you straight in the arm, and you're bleeding! Then, the mysterious building's door is hit. A lock bursts, and the door swings open. A perfect [[hideout]]!
Sneakily and stealthily, you tiptoe slowly over to the door. The redcoats don't see you, and your plan is to open the door quickly, and close it so they can't get you. The men will see you, but the door will have closed by then. You leap to the door in a bold move, and yell, "Lobsterback scum!" while ripping open the door. Except, the door doesn't open. It's locked! Fires rain down on you and the men advance. You drop to the ground, but not without receiving a grave wound to the soldiers. Then you notice an iron musket ball, and an [[idea]] strikes you.
You pick up the musket ball and smash the handle to bits. The door swings open and you run inside, slamming the door. This lodges the musket ball underneath the door, lodging it in place. There's no way to escape, so you should [[look around]] to examine your surroundings. But you have an awful feeling in your stomach, and feel out of place. Your instincts tell you to [[get out of here]]!
Your wound stings as you run into the dark building and close the door. The musket ball that opened it is under it, too low to reach but keeps the door closed. You need to [[look around]].
As if they were motion activated, the lights flash on. You appear to be standing in front of a massive maze! The only way out seems to be through the [[maze]].
You kick the musket ball, and it flies out as the door swings open. A wide-eyed redcoat stares at you and fires. Your arm wound hurts even more as you die, with your killer, the redcoat, standing over you, smiling.
You enter, and hallways seem to be at every turn. An old, withering sign reads "KONAMI CODE". You haven't the slightest idea what it means, but you try to heed it anyway. You can turn [[right]] or go [[straight]].
The lights flicker. You can go [[forward]], or [[go left]].
Your shoes click on the hard floor, and the lights flicker. You can turn [[left]], or [[continue straight]].
It's a dead end. You need to start over and go back to the start of the [[maze]].
You come across a hole in the floor. You could go [[down]], or [[go right]].
You can [[keep going forward]], [[turn right]], or [[turn left]].
It's a dead end. You can go back to the beginning of the [[maze]].
The ladder is rusty, but you find another floor. You could [[keep going down]], or [[get off]].
It's a dead end. Luckily, you can just turn around, [[continue straight]], and return to the hole. It's still in sight.
You find yourself back at the beginning. The sign that had said "KONAMI CODE" has fallen, and you can go [[right]] or [[straight]].
You can [[head right]] or [[head left]].
You find a [[ladder]] going up.
This is the bottom of the ladder, and you can [[follow the left]] or [[follow forward]].
It is much darker below. You can [[go straight]] or [[get back on]] the ladder.
You can [[turn right]] or [[turn left]].
You [[keep going down]].
The ladder is too rusty and smashed for you to climb on. You forget where you are and just wander back where you started the [[maze]].
You can [[follow the right]] or [[go forward]].
After a long time, you reach a dead end. You need to go back where the [[maze]] starts and begin again.
You can [[follow the left path]] or [[continue right]].
You see a large techonological thing, flashing and beeping, with wires coming out of it everywhere. You can [[touch the control panel]], or go back to the ladder and [[keep going down]].
You tap the screen, and it says "Illuminati's Twine Stories". One catches your eye. It is called "The Americans Lose New York", and once opened, looks like it's about you! There are lots of boxes and arrows. You try to edit one and

You can [[keep going right]] or [[turn left now]].
It's a dead end. You go back to the place where the [[maze]] started.
The only way to go from here is to [[the right]].
You come to a dead end. There is a sign on the wall, and it says, "KONAMI CODE. Go back where the [[maze]] starts."
You can [[go straight]] or [[head left]], but you have this strange feeling of going around in circles.
You can go [[right]] or [[left]]. If you do either, however, you feel like you're going in a big circle..
Finally, you find a trapdoor that leads to outside. The handle to open it is mossy and moist, as if nobody had opened it before. It opens with a shriek and you find yourself behind the giant temple with the triangle. Still, you haven't found any red triangles! Then, sharp pain hits you. Your wound is serious! You need to [[find bandages]]!
Running around in circles to confuse the men, one of them shoots, and a musket ball lands on the ground. That's when an [[idea]] strikes you.
You slowly make your way around, and notice a [[red thing]] near the temple. It pains you to just think of walking there. But it picks up your interest, although you still need to [[get medical attention]].
As you trudge over to the shiny red thing which is most likely the last triangle, you hear a loud [[scream]]. You need to help whoever that was, but you also need to get that [[red item]]!
You continue searching until you come across a vine. However, you're so hungry that you can't even pick it up. (if: $cranberries is 1)[Luckily, you have a bunch of cranberries. You eat them and [[pick up the vine]].] (if: $cranberries is 0)[You need to [[find food]]!]
(if: $cranberries is 1)[You now have eaten your //Cranberries//]
The scream is followed by more. Going as fast as you can, you see a little girl screaming unprovoked. You think it is quite odd, until you realize there is a [[man in a black suit]] chasing her!
You try to continue to the red item, but you can't. Your wound is grave, and blood is dripping. You need to [[get medical attention]] immediately!
The man in a black suit has an odd silver gun that shoots red lasers. The poor girl is running for her life. With your other hand, you pick up your musket and knock him with its back in the head. He falls to the ground, and you smash, with your heel, his gun. The girl comes up to you, and you [[greet her]].
As you say hello, the girl pulls out a gun similar to the one the man had and says, "You die now. I thank you for saving me, although I could have done that myself. He thought I was too close to the temple of the Illuminati. I found a mysterious document that said riches would await me if I came here. I found a gun on the ground, and I can't have any witnesses. If you can be of any service to me, however, I won't kill you. Maybe you have some type of [[items]] to help me? If not, you will [[die]].
(set: $cranberries to 0) You wrap your wound in the vine. Luckily, it's not poison ivy. It works as a bandage and you can [[go back to get the red thing]] or [[keep looking]] for Washington.
You find an apple on a tree after looking around, and [[pull it off the tree]].
Feeling better, you pick up the red triangle after going to get it. The triangles all vibrate and then the red triangle turns gold. You look at the others, and they're gold too! You need to put these in the entrance of the [[temple]].
You now have the //Red Illuminati Stone//
<img src="http://i62.tinypic.com/znz48.png" width="200" height="100">
You walk around, but can't find Washington. You should [[go back to get the red thing]].
You immediately eat the apple, and feel better. You're still hungry, however, so you can [[look for more food]] or [[pick up the vine]].
You can't find any more food, and decide to [[keep looking]] for Washington.
The triangles vibrate more and more as you approach the entrance. You take them all out. A circle beneath you glows golden, and the large triangle of the entrance is turning gold. You join the three triangles together into a big triangle, with an upside down triangular hole in the center. It's now very heavy and about the height of a flat-screen TV and about a foot wide. You then [[place the big triangle into the door]].
"I have two triangles", you say. She grins and snatches them from your hands, then puts the gun up again. "Just kidding! Thanks for that. You still die." She pulls the trigger, and you could've gotten what riches she will get, but blew it. You're dead, and it's all your fault.
Your silence tells the girl that you want to die. Your musket is out of ammo and you have nothing to save yourself with. (if: $r is 1)[Then you remember your rock chunk. You throw it at her leg, and she screams again, firing like crazy. You duck to the ground, and put up one of your triangles as a shield. [[Something]] drops out of her pocket.] (if: $rock is 0)[She smiles, and fires. The laser hits you in the head and you die immediately.]
The "something" is the red triangle! As you come closer, it turns golden and vibrates, as do the others. You go back to the entrance of the [[temple]].
