Scene Construction Chart\n\nWithin this chart are the probabilities (%) that govern the particulars of a given Scene in the game. As the chart becomes quite complex when all factors are considered, this hypertext version has been built to show clearly the stepwise process involved in Moment and Event selection for a given Scene 'under the hood' of the game.\n\nNOTE: All probabilities are based on anecdotal as opposed to emprical evidence.\n\nClick [[here|StepWise]] to begin with the Stepwise Process Outline.\n\n
Solo Moment Probabilities.\n\nIf the 4-Solo Type is selected, Solo Moments are assigned to each department. Otherwise, Solo Moments are simply designed to fill the gaps left by the other Types (Duo, Trio, or Quartet). As such, the Solo Moment selected depends entirely on what departments are unoccupied in a particular Section. \n\nClick below to see Solo Moment probabilities broken down by department.\n\n[[Acting|SoloActing]]\n[[Crew|SoloCrew]]\n[[Tech|SoloTech]]\n[[Stage Management|SoloSM]]\n\n[[Return to Type Probabilities|MomentType]]\n\n[[Return to Process Outline|StepWise]]\n
Stepwise Scene Construction Process Outline\n\nBefore a Scene is generated and begins, the game initiates the process below to determine its exact structure.\n\n<u>STEP 1</u>\n\nIt is determined whether or not an Event will appear in the Scene and, if so, which one(s). \nClick [[here|EventAppearance]] for Event Appearance Probabilities.\n\n<u>STEP 2</u>\n\nA Scene of a given length is divided into Moment Sections (of 10 or 20 sec. length per Section). \nClick [[here|SectionLength]] for Section Length Probabilities.\n\n<u>STEP 3</u>\n\nA Moment Type is then selected (Duo, Trio, Quartet or 4-Solo Moments) for a given Section. \nClick [[here|MomentType]] for Type Probabilities.\n\n<u>STEP 4</u>\n\nIn Duo, Trio, and Quartet Types, Solo Moments are then selected to occupy unused departments. This process is designed such that, as in theatre, there is no 'downtime' for any department in a given Section of a Scene.\nClick [[here|MomentSolo]] for Solo Moment Probabilities. \n\n<u>STEP 5</u>\n\nThe game repeats this process until all Sections in the Scene are filled.\n\n\n<u>EXAMPLE</u>\n\nIn a 10 sec. Section of a Scene, let's say that a Moment of Type Trio is randomly selected (which it will be [[20%|MomentType]] of the time). The particular Trio moment is randomly selected as 'Hitting the Mark' (which it will be [[35%|MomentTrio]] of the time). This means that Acting, Tech, and Stage Management are going to be occupied with 'Hitting the Mark' for 10 sec. In that same 10 sec., Crew has to be occupied as well. Therefore the 'Costume Prep' Solo Moment is randomly selected to occupy him or her (which it will be [[22.5%|SoloCrew]] of the time) until the Section is complete (10 sec. is up).\n\n\n
Event Appearance Probabilities.\n\nAs Events are designed to occasionally impede play (and bring about catastrophic consequences), the probabilities of no, single, or multiple Events need to be taken in consideration. The probabilities of no, single, or multiple events appearing within the Scene are as follows:\n\nNo Event = 70%\n1 Event = 20%\n2 Events = 10%\n\nClick below to see the probabilities of a particular Event (in the event that one or two will be present in a given Scene).\n\n[[Event Probabilities|EventProb]]\n\n[[Return to Process Outline|StepWise]]

That is, will the player actually experience the difference between 18% and 16% within the finite timeframe of play? As the game is playtested these probabilities will more than likely be adjusted to serve the experience of the Moments better.\n\n ** Costume Repair only appears as a Duo Moment 30% of the time (with a 70% chance of appearing as a Solo Moment). In addition, 10% of all Costume Repair Moments (Duo or Solo) are No-Win Scenarios.\n\n *** Understudy Guide is mandatory within a Scene if Understudy Track is in effect. Otherwise, the Moment is not considered.\n\nIf Duo is the Type selected, this means one of two assignments for the remaining departments: another Duo Moment or one Solo Moment each. If the former, then a second Duo Moment is chosen from the applicable ones (i.e. the ones involving unused departments). For example, if an Acting/Crew Moment is selected, then a SM/Tech Moment is chosen to fill in the gap. If the latter (or a second Duo Moment is not possible, e.g. if an Acting/SM Moment is selected there are no Crew/Tech Moments to fill in the gap) then Solo Moments are assigned.\n\nNOTE: Probabilities are different in [[Tent Mode|TentModeDuo]].\n\n[[Return to Type Probabilities|MomentType]]\n\n[[Return to Process Outline|StepWise]]

For example, if a Section is designated as 20 seconds, and a 4-Solo Type is selected to fill this Section, an issue arises in that the Acting department doesn't have a Moment of 20 sec. length. As such, this 20 sec. Section will be filled for the Acting department with two Moments of 10 sec. length. The game will compensate thusly whenever issues such as these arise.\n\nNOTE: If a Moment or Event is taken out of consideration (e.g. a Blackout could completely remove the possibilty of all Tech related Moments in the next Scene) its probability (%) is divided evenly and added to the remaining Moments or Events.\n\n[[Return to Process Outline|StepWise]]\n\n
