I ran toward the village of people. There was a lot of innocent lives at stake here, instead of just one or two. It seemed like the best choice given the person who was testing me.\n\nAs I entered the village the cyclops came toward me. He was about to stomp on me, and I wasn't sure how to stop him, so I through my hands up (like that'd really help). As I did, bolts of lightening shot through them and burned the cyclops to a crisp. Well, that was unexpected.\n\nI was transported back to Zeus, who seemed pleased at my decision. Plus I had gained a new power. Nifty.\n\n[[Zeus third trial]]
I forgave the bully. She wasn't really that bad, and I would never see her again anyway. Perhaps she was going through something herself. Who knows?\n\nThe other two I could live with being punished a little.\n\nI appeared back before Zeus.\n\n"You have passed all three trials, and now you must rest for the battle that lies ahead."\n\nWell, even if Zeus was pretty emotional about most things, at least I had passed.\n\n\n[[Rest|Zeus Rest]]
Maybe he was a friendly giant. Those existed, right? I stopped running and turned to face him.\n\n"Wait!" I called out. To my surprise, he stopped. "I...uh...I'm just looking for a sword."\n\n"Puny human. No sword!" his voice was barely coherent, gruff and deep. "Kill human!" Oh crap. \n\nI turned to run, but before I knew it I had been stomped on. \n\nLooks like my quest is over.\n\n\nGame over\n\n[[Play again? |Start]]\n\n
I was transported to what seemed to be like a holding cell for prisoners. Why? I don't know, I was definitely confused. I looked through the bars and recognized three people: my mother, my sister, and a girl from my high school.\n\n"Each one of these people have wronged you." It was Athena's voice in my head. "Your mother seems to think you're good for nothing, and that you are going nowhere in life." Yeah, she did point that out a lot. "Your sister blames everything on you, and gets away with it." That was true, too. "And this girl from your school has bullied you since elementary." I definitely hated her. "You must choose who to forgive and set free, and leave the other two to be punished."\n\nWell, this coule be fun.\n\n[[Forgive mom.|Person One]]\n\n[[Forgive sister.|Person Two]]\n\n[[Forgive girl from school.|Person Three]]\n\n[[Forgive All]]
I decided to meet with Hades. I wanted to see what the god of the underworld was all about.\n\nAthena transported us to a place that seemed surrounded in fog. It was dark, and it took a moment for my eyes to adjust. When they did, Hades sat before me on a throne.\n\n"Welcome to the underworld." His voice wasn't at all how I'd imagine it to be. It was smooth, charasmatic, almost inviting. \n\n“To you, this world is silent. The living are not meant to hear the cries of the dead, not even in the realm of death, itself. I hear every voice, every cry of pain. And I am not the only 'ally' of Zeus made to suffer. There are many he has mistreated. His wife, my beautiful sister Hera, was forced to marry him. Even that was not enough for him. He goes around the world, taking what he wants without any regard to whom he brings harm.”\n\nHe explained to me that he wanted to take over Zeus's throne and rule among the gods himself. His brother apparently had been abusing his power for ages, and any person or god Zeus deemed would be punished for a myriad of reasons, some as simple as Zeus just not liking them. \n\nOf course, Hades informed me that he himself wouldn't rule justly. He wasn't fond of being a hero, but he would rule as he see fit, which would be more just than Zeus ever was. \n\nIt was weird. There was an honesty about Hades that I didn't expect. \n\n[[Side with Hades|Start Hades Trials]]\n\n[[Think it over]]
Surprisingly the place where I was to rest was much like my room back at home. It made me nostalgic, and now that I had a moment to myself, I had time to think.\n\nI was to participate in a big battle to decide the fate among the gods. Was I ready? Had I made the right choices? Would we prevail? What would become of me after? \n\nAs these thoughts rushed through my head, Athena appeared before me once again.\n\n"Zeus would like to meet with you." I was transported to Olympus, standing in front of the god of gods himself. \n\nHe explained to me that he had watched me and seen how I prevailed over Hades's tasks. He knew I was questioning my choices, and was giving me the oppertunity to switch sides and fight along side him.\n\n"I will give you everything you've ever dreamed of and more." \n\nDidn't sound too bad, but what was I to do?\n\n[[Switch to Zeus's Side]]\n\n[[Stay with Hades]]\n\n[[Is this a trick?]]
I looked around after taking Athena's hand. I was surrounded by nothingness, to put it simply. We seemed to be floating.\n\n"This war has been going on for ages. Zeus and Hades, brothers pitted against each other. One rules, the other wishes to. Both need your help. If Zeus wishes to keep the throne and win this war, he must have you on his side. If Hades wishes to overthrow his brother, he needs you to help him. \n\nYou have a choice, Alessa. I shall bring you to meet them."\n\n[[Meet Zeus]]\n\n[[Meet Hades]]
I forgave all three of them. If you don't have forgiveness, then what do you have? It was a good thing, and surely Zeus liked good things.\n\nWhen I was transported back, Zeus called me weak for not being able to make a choice, and if I was weak then how could I fight for him to defeat Hades?\n\nApparently I couldn't.\n\nHe threw me in the prison with the other three. \n\nGame over.\n\n[[Play again?|Start]]\n
Hi. My name is Alessa. I'm just your normal eighteen year old female. I graduated highschool this past spring. Am I bound for college? Did I get a job? Truth is, I had no idea what I wanted to do for my future. I was sort of drifting day by day. My parents would constantly hound me about choosing a path and making something of myself. But how was I supposed to do that when I had no clue what I wanted to do with my life?\n\nWell, my indicisiveness didn't seem to matter. I soon got my wake up call.\n\nI was driving home one night after seeing a movie. The road was pretty empty. It was really dark. Something caught my eye. It was a strange light in the distance. I tried to focus on it for a moment, then it suddenly got brighter and blinded me.\n\nNeedless to say, I hit a tree. \n\nI was fine, the car was totaled. Anyone in their right mind would have called their parents, or the cops, or someone and reported it. Me? Nah. The light was there in the distance, and I was drawn to it.\n\nSo I went to it.\n\nTo my surprise, it turned out to be a person. Not just a person, but a goddess. Not just a goddess, but Athena. You know, Greek god of wisdom? Yeah, totally her.\n\n"Alessa," she said, "I know you're confused in what path to take in life. I am here to help that." A goddess sent to help me choose a path? Weird. "You are part of a prophecy. One that will help end the ward among the gods." Me? How the hell can I help with something like that? "We must get started right away. Take my hand, and you shall begin your journey." \n\nOkay, was I dreaming? Did I hit my head in the wreck and am lying past out on the side of the road? If this was a dream, what did I have to lose? Either way, I took her hand.\n\n[[Take Athena's hand. |Next]]\n
I don't know if it was the best idea, but I choose to side with Hades. Something about him seemed more real than Zeus.\n\nHades seemed guininely pleased that I chose his side. \n\n"We shall start the trials, then. Time for training."\n\n\n[[Hades' First Trial]]
I decided who better to side with than the ruler of the gods? Zeus was powerful, and it seemed crazy that he could be defeated, let alone that he would need my help.\n\nWhen I chose his side, he really didn't seem pleased, but rather like he knew I wouldn't go against him. \n\nHe soon sent me on my first trial.\n\n[[Zeus's First Trial]]

I had to play this smart, if I refused, surely Zeus would kill me, but I didn't want to kill Hades. I was on his side. Time to test my deceiving skills. \n\nI agreed to take the poison, saying I would give it to Hades. Zeus seemed pleased, and suddenly I was back standing in front of his brother.\n\nI immediately told him of the poison, and how Zeus had asked me to take the easy way out and give it to Hades.\n\n[[Next|Return to Hades, best choice 3]]
Suddenly I found myself in Olympus, standing before Zeus. I was definitely confused, but tried not to let it show. \n\n"Mortal," his voice boomed at me. "I've watched you with Hades, and it seems my brother is starting to trust you. Because of this, you are in the perfect position to take him down. I want you to give him this poison, a deadly tonic that can render a god mortal. It will give us the oppertunity to dispose of him."\n\nKill Hades? Really? Could it be that easy? I couldn't stand to hear my family in danger and in pain. Ignoring the choking sensation that was getting worse, I ran toward the burning house.\n\nI bursts through the door, only to be facing Zeus once again. \n\nHe nodded in approval, but his expression was blank. I guess I passed?\n\nApparently, it was time for the third trial.\n\n[[Zeus third trial]]\n
I defeated a cylcops, maybe that would frighten her enough to give me what I wanted.\n\n"I got what I wanted from a cyclops, I don't think you'll be much trouble, so how about you give me what I need and we'll be done?" \n\nShe stared at me. And then laughed. \n\n"You threaten me, mortal?" Maybe this was a bad idea. She waved her hand, and before I knew it I was being held face down in the water by two sets of strong hands. \n\nI couldn't breath. It looked like my trial, and life, were over. \n\n\n\nGame over.\n\n[[Play again?|Start]]

Alessa gets a visit from Athena. Hades wishes to meet with her.\n\nMeets with Hades in the Underworld. He tries to convince her to switch sides.\n\n[[Switch to Hades side]]\n\n[[Stay on Zeus side]]\n
I decided that I should meet Zeus. Afterall, he is the ruler of the gods, right? At least for now. He must be the good guy in all this. \n\nAthena transported us to what seemed like a palace in the sky. It was bright, so bright it nearly hurt my eyes. I felt very out of place.\n\n"Welcome to Mt. Olympus," Zeus's voice boomed. It seemed to surround me. If you could judge how powerful someone was by their voice, Zeus was definitely extremely powerful. It was intemidating.\n\nZeus explained to me that his brother had caused the war among the gods, trying to overthrow Zeus and take what was rightfully his. Hades wasn't fit to rule. He would bring chaos and distruction among the heavens as well as earth. It was my job to help prevent all that.\n\nAnd in return, Zeus would grant me with immortality as well as glory among the gods. Afterwards, I'd return back home. \n\nIt didn't sound too bad all in all, should I side with Zeus?\n\n[[Side with Zeus |Start Zeus Trials]]\n\n[[Think it over]]
I decided to go for the tree. If I could make him fall, maybe I could figure out what to do next while he was down. \n\nI sprinted toward the fallen tree, jumped over it, and ducked behind it. Covering my head, I could feel the ground shake as the cylcops kicked the tree and stumbled onto the earth next to me. I looked up to see him lying on his belly, apparently upset that he had fallen. \n\nI quickly jumped up and almost started running, but I saw that the cylcops wasn't getting up. In fact, he didn't seem to be moving. I slowly walked up to him.\n\nBlood seemed to be puddling around him. I could see something glinting in his side. I walked over and pulled on the handle of what should have been a sword, but it was broke. And the cylcops was dead.\n\n[[Back to Hades |Return to Hades Wrong Choice]]
I stood in front of Zeus while his eyes seemed to observe me. The silence was pretty uncomfortable. I wasn't sure what to say, so I stayed silent. Finally, he spoke to me.\n\n"Why did you decide to side with me against my brother, Hades?" \n\nReally? This question was being asked now?\n\n[[I don't know, I just randomly picked a side.|Riddle Answer 1]]\n\n[[Because Hades is evil and I don't side with evil.|Riddle Answer 2]]\n\n[[Because you are all powerful and no one should go against you.|Riddle Answer 3]]
I was suddenly transported to what seemed like an empty field. Toward one end was a line of trees that led to a forest. \n\n"You must obtain the sword." Athena's voice in my head. What sword?\n\nI headed toward the trees. \n\nThe ground started shaking.\n\nBefore I knew it I was craining my neck back to see the towering beast before me. It was a cyclops. An actual, huge, one eyed being. What the hell was I suppose to do?\n\nI did the only logical thing I could think of. I ran. \n\nI could feel the ground shake as he stomped after me. I knew running wasn't the answer, but I wasn't sure what to do. I quickly looked around. \n\nThere was a large knocked over tree in the distance. Maybe I could use that to trip him?\n\nThere was also a feather that seemed to be dancing in the wind. It had to be there for a reason, right?\n\nOr, I could always try to talk to the big guy. Maybe he wasn't so mean.\n\n[[Use the tree.|Kill Cyclops]]\n\n[[Go for the feather.|Use feather]]\n\n[[Try to talk to him.|Reason with Cyclops]]\n
Why not switch sides? I was decent at deceit. I could pretend to be on Zeus's side which might throw him enough off guard to win this battle.\n\nOr, if I won on Zeus's side, then I could have everything I ever wanted. So which should it be?\n\n[[Catch Zeus off guard, still with Hades]]\n\n[[Fight on Zeus's side against Hades]]\n
The feather seemed to be floating by itself. There had to a be a significant reason for it. I ran toward it and snatched it out of the air. \n\nIt felt ordinary, but it had to do something, right?\n\nI stopped running and held it up to the cyclops. He stopped and looked at it, his large eye growing wide.\n\n"Pegasus..." It barely sounded like a word, but I recognized it. He must think that this feather came from Pegasus. Maybe it did.\n\n"Right..." I said, going with the thought. "And who does pegasus belong to?"\n\n"Zeus..." The cyclops seemed frightened. Again, I went with it.\n\n"I'm here to help Zeus, and to do that, I need a sword." To my surprise, the cyclops immediately haded over a sword, then ran into the trees.\n\nWell, that was easier than expected.\n\n[[Pick up the sword.|Return to Hades Right Choice]]\n
Hades seemed pleased when I held up the sword for him. Something about the way he looked made me feel all giddy, like I had accomplished a major feat that I never would have in my normal life. I was liking this prophecy thing. \n\n[[Start Second Trial|Hades Second Trial]]
Well, it seemed like the easy way out of all this. I could end these crazy trials and bypass the battle and go home. It sounded good to me.\n\nI agreed to take the poison, but once my hand wrapped around the vial, it turned to dust.\n\nZeus faded, and Hades took his place. He looked angry.\n\n"You would have betrayed me after everything? Silly mortal, you are not the being I thought you were. Lock her up."\n\nWell, I guess I should have known it wasn't that easy. Now I was stuck as Hades's prisoner for all enternity.\n\n\nGame over.\n\n[[Play again?|Start]]
Zeus seemed to hold his head up higher. \n\n"You are correct, mortal." My answer seemed to please him. Of course, cater to a god's ego.\n\nOn to the next trial.\n\n[[Zeus Second Trial]]

Once again I was transported to another area, this time a river. It was actually quite nice. It almost felt like I was back on earth. \n\n"You've tried for the sword, now try for the shield." Athena's voice in my head again. Would I have to fight another creature that seemed to want to kill me? I hoped not.\n\nI looked across the river and saw another person. No, she definitely wasn't an ordinary person. She was the most beautiful creature I had ever seen. Before she spoke I knew who she was.\n\n"Greetings, mortal. I am Aphrodite. Why have you come here?"\n\n"I need your help to end this war among the gods."\n\n"How can I be of service?" \n\nI had to choose carefully about how I would go about this. I've learned that gods and goddesses are not always what they seem, and can be deceiving. I could be deceiving as well, or straight forward, or honest. I was transported to a field. I could hear screaming all around me. Apparently people were in danger.\n\nTo the left of me was a town of people, running for their lives as a cyclops stomped and detroyed their houses.\n\nTo the right of me was my own home, on fire, and I could hear my mother and brother screaming from the inside.\n\nAnd behind me was...me. Weird. But I was seeing an image of myself near a lake.\n\n"You must choose who to save." Athena's voice in my head for guidance. "But only one situation may be fixed." I looked back to see the image of me being held face down in the water. \n\nWho was I going to save?\n\n[[Save family]]\n\n[[Save innocents]]\n\n[[Save self]]
I decided to be honest with her. I told her that I had sided with Hades, and that perhaps Zeus wasn't fit to be the leader among the gods. I was choking on what apparently was water from the vision of myself being drowned. If I didn't save myself, how could I do anything else? \n\nI ran toward myself and shoved the people off of me.
