The smell of freshly-baked cookies and the sound of a crackling hot fire fill the air as you enter the library. Tacosbefriends sits by the fire, book in one hand and eggnog in another. He's dressed in a festive white-and-red labcoat, his goggles colored to simulate the swirling pattern of a candy cane. He smiles warmly at you as you enter.
"Happy holidays to all of you!" he says with a certain amount of holiday cheer.
"Gather 'round, boys and girls! I'm going to tell you the story of Cubecraft, and the jolly little elves that make it possible."
Would you like to hear the story, or look around?
[[Hear Story]]
[[Look Around House]]
You take a seat by the fire. Tacosbefriends flips to the first page of the book.
"Our story begins in the Cubecraft HQ
Where there is always so much to do
The elves, known as mods and admins,
Rush here and there through the holiday cabin"
"Four jolly Brits watch as the elves to work go,
Their names are Joe, Luke, John and Marco.
Together they plan festivities for the holiday season
To bring joy to all players, they need no better reason"
"Luke, and his team of developer reindeer,
Fly out in the night, coding holiday cheer,
While John, Joe and Marco keep watch over the server,
Keeping Cubecraft well-running with a great fervor"
"But what of the elves? Surely they do something too.
Ah, yes. The elves DO do something, that much is true.
The elves do more, though, than make games and toys,
The elves do, moreso, judge all girls and boys"
"For the good little children who act good and kind,
A holiday reward in your chests, you will find,
But to the naughty children who break the rules
A punishment will come to the unfortunate fools"
"For you see, each elf carries with them a hammer
Which they use with great skill as a rule-breaker-banner
So when you log on and come to play with friends
Make sure to read the rules, or you may all meet your ends"
Tacosbefriends closes the book and smiles at you.
"Now wasn't that a good story?" he asks you.
What do you say?
[[That Story Was Great!]]
[[That Story Sucked!]]
"Oh, that's fine. Make yourself comfortable. The cookies will be done soon, and you can have a glass of eggnog while you wait." he informs you, taking a swig from his glass of eggnog.
The walls are lined with bookshelves, full of interesting reads and various bits and bobs. Of the many unique and intriguing things, two stand out: a miniature ornithopter and a book titled "RULES: READ 'EM".
Alternatively, there is a door adorned with a bright, friendly wreath, another door which you entered from outside, and a staircase, which one might assume leads upstairs.

What the heck is an ornithopter anyways? An ornithopter is an aviation device which works by flapping massive wings, similar to a bird. The ornithopter was one of the first inventions designed in order to help man achieve fli-
"I DIDN'T COME HERE TO LEARN, I CAME HERE TO PLAY WITH STUFF", you yell out in irritation.
Fine. You play with the ornithopter. It flaps a bit. You get bored and decide to do something else.

[[Enter Door with Wreath]]
[[Hear Story]]
You take the book off the shelf and open it up.
[[Flip Page]]
You push open the decorative door. As you enter, the scent of delicious cookies fills your nose. Luke and Joe are seated at a table, each of them working on making some holiday goodies. Luke waves as you enter.
"Hey, wanna give us a hand baking?" Luke asks.
"I'll give you a cubelet if you mix this eggnog for me. I wanna get back to playing Fallout." Joe says, clearly not excited to be working in the kitchen.
[[Help Luke]]

[[Go to Library]]
As you step outside, you hear an unfamiliar voice calling to you.
"Hi there, buddy! Wanna play?"
You look around, but see nothing but snow.
What do you do?
[[Go Inside]]
[[Call Out "Who's there?"]]
It's blank.
[[Flip Page Again]]
Also blank.
[[Flip Page Yet Again]]
Yet another blank page...
[[Flip Page For The Fourth Time]]
Aha! Finally, it says something...
No, wait. It's just a stain on the paper.
[[Flip Page ONE MORE TIME]]
You finally happen across a page with some text.

https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/official-rules.41864/

It becomes apparent to you that this might be the reason that so many people break the rules. Perhaps if the rules didn't require you to flip through page after page of a book, players would find them more easily.
The daunting task of flipping five pieces of paper has exhausted you. You decide that's enough reading for one day.

"Hey, thanks." Luke says, handing you the mixing bowl. Joe groans.
"I just need you to mix that for a bit while I check on the cookies. Think you can do that?" Luke asks.
[[I Can Do It!]]
You give Joe your cookie and tell him you'll help him with the eggnog.
"YAAAAY, I'M FREEEEEE" Joe exclaims.
Like a ghoul hopped up on psycho and jet, Joe bolts out of the kitchen and into the library. You hear a vague ruckus in the other room, then the loud slamming of a door. Something shatters. Someone yells.
At least you made Joe happy.
What do you do?

[[Spike Eggnog]]
You walk up the stairs and find a short hallway with three doors. The door on the left is slightly open, light pouring through the crack. The door on the right is closed tight and has a note on it. The door at the end of the hallway seems fairly normal and uninteresting.

"That's the spirit!"
Luke stands up and walks over to the oven as you mix the cookie dough. He takes out a tray of cookies and places them on a festive-looking holiday platter.
"Alright, let's make some cookies!" Luke says, waving you over.
What do you do?
[[Bring Luke the Bowl]]
[[Dump Dough on Joe]]
You walk over to Luke and give him the bowl. He thanks you for the help and hands you a cookie from the platter, then begins scooping the dough onto a new baking sheet for the oven. Joe grumbles something about wanting to play Fallout.
What do you do?
[[Help Joe For Real This Time]]
[[Eat Cookie]]
You decide that Joe would look much better covered in cookie dough and proceed to empty the bowl's contents on top of Joe's head. Joe begins screaming words that are not suitable for this game's audience and bans you.

Welcome, player! This is the Cubecraft Games Holiday House!
Come inside, it's much too cold out here for you! Come warm
yourself by the fire and have a glass of hot chocolate. The
cookies will be ready soon too!
[[Go Inside]]
You step inside and kick off your winter boots. You hang your hat and coat in the foyer of the house. The interior is cozy and warm, the walls all adorned with wintery decorations. Through the door, you can see what appears to be a library.
[[Go to Library]]
[[Go Back Outside]]
"Great!" the snowman exclaims. "This game is called Spleef!"
"Um... Spleef?" you ask. Before you can get an answer from the snowman, he gives you a shovel and brushes the snow away from your feet. You're surprised to find that under the snow, there is nothing but a dark, bottomless void. You back up.
[[Spleef the Snowman!]]
[[Go Inside]] <- Probably Wise
"Who's there?" you call out.
Suddenly, the snow in front of you explodes into a flurry of flakes. From the gelid eruption, a snowman appear. His nose is a carrot, his eyes and mouth small pebbles. He holds a broomstick.
"I've been waiting for someone to play with! Want to play with me?" the snowman asks.
[[Ok :D]]
[[No Thanks]]
"No thanks." you say, not too keen on the prospect of falling into the inky black below.
"What's the matter? DON'T LIKE GAMES?" The snowman seems a tad less friendly now.
You turn to flee inside, but the door is frozen shut. You're trapped out here with the snowman, it seems.
What do you do?
[[Compliment Snowman]]
[[Break Door with Shovel]]
"Hiya!"
You swing your shovel feverishly at the snowman's... feet? With a few quick swipes, you dig away the snow, leaving the snowman nowhere to stand.
So he decides to float instead. He makes a series of rude faces at you, then sweeps away the rest of the snow around you. You plummet into the void, screaming.

"You have a beautiful nose!" you shout.
The snowman blushes, flattered by your generous compliment.
"You really think so? The carrot's organic. I didn't think anyone would notice."
The snowman admires his reflection in a nearby puddle of ice. He seems distracted.

You mix that eggnog. You mix that eggnog real good.
Once the 'nog is mixed, you bring the bowl to the counter, cover it in plastic wrap, and put it in the fridge. You wonder what happened to Joe.
[[Go to Library]]
You spike the eggnog with yet more eggnog. Good job.
What now?
[[Mix Eggnog]]
Haha, no. Joe doesn't get any help. You help Luke instead.
[[Help Luke]]
It tastes like gingerbread and Joe's tears.

You push the door open and step inside. This appears to be the bathroom. There is a bathtub, a sink, and a toilet. You can see yourself in the mirror.

[[Use the Toilet]]
[[Leave the Bathroom]]
You try to open the door, but it's locked. You read the note on the door.
"SUPER SECRET HOLIDAY STUFF FOR CUBECRAFT ROOM: ONLY STAFF ALLOWED"
Are you staff?
[[I'm staff!]]
[[I'm not staff...]]
You turn the handle and push the door open. There is nothing behind the door except a wall and a sticky-note that reads "Hey, don't forget to put a room here."
It must have slipped their minds.

[[Really Really!]]

It would appear this door is not intended for you. You decide to leave it alone.
You stand at the top of the stairs. The door on the left is slightly open, light pouring through the crack. The door on the right is closed tight and has a note on it. The door at the end of the hallway seems fairly normal and uninteresting.

Your lack of hygiene proves to be your ultimate undoing. You catch a cold that turns you into a kumquat.
You are now a kumquat.
