,,,,Welcome to Revalon, a text-based game set in a sci-fi universe. Your character is a "Resolver", one of many that make up the Commonwealth StarForce, an organisation dedicated as much as to exploration as it is to defending and resolving conflicts within the myriad planets that make up the Commonwealth of Revalon. Resolvers fulfill a diverse number of roles, including but not limited to, resolving conflicts, defending the lives of Revalon's denizens and policing it's lands. They are the bulwark, the aegis against the coming darkness. Resolvers are sworn to defend Revalon's protectorates as much as they are sworn to defend Revalon itself.
This story takes place some time after your character becomes the captain of their own ship.
Your ship has picked up a distress call from Shriyakis, a space station built by the Tuvandorions, and you are to head there with all due haste. Revalon expects that every person will do their duty.

"Bridge to Squadron leader, we have just reached the Lemanosa Star System. Request your presence".
You finish the last of your tea, and head to the bridge. On the bridge, you see a display of the star system, and it's dyson sphere. The sight never ceases to amaze you, despite dyson spheres being standard throughout the Commonwealth of Revalon and its' protectorates(like Tuvandor, for example).
You think about the Tuvandorian in your bridge staff. Unlike humans like you with an average lifespan of around 200 years, Tuvandorians live for around a century. The young age of S'rofh, along with their shorter lifespan, means that he has less years of experience than the rest of the bridge staff. In addition, he also belongs to the planet whose distress call you are responding to.
However, you also know that they mature faster than humans would. Therefore, you should not hold their age against them.

It is evident that this is the H'ika virus in action. And unfortunately, this means that the station must be destroyed as soon as possible, to prevent this highly contagious virus from spreading. Such is its potency that, unless your crew has followed standard safety procedures, it will infect them.

Finally, sensors notify that the beam is powering up. You rush to the teleportation room, where you see that most of the crew has returned. However, S'rofh is missing.
You are informed that S'rofh, evidently in a distracted state of mind, failed to turn on his insulation filter, and was infected by the virus. He killed 3 members of the away team before they could react, and was shot shortly thereafter. This was the reason for the confusion. You return to the bridge, uncomfortably aware of the loss of 4 people today.
As your ship powers up its weapons to destroy the station, you cannot help but feel that everything that has transpired was your fault. You wonder how it would have gone had you taken the time to help S'rofh deal with his emotions, but it is too late now. Your first mission as captain, and you messed it up.

And as for S'rofh, I know that you did your best to console him, and I do not blame you for what happened to him or to the people we lost. And I think that the crew feels the same. Anyways, good night, Squadron Leader".
You lie on your bed, thinking about the lost. You think that the court will exonerate you, but that does not mean that you could not have handled it differently.
Howe raises any eyebrow. "That is rather direct, Squadron Leader. However, I gather that you do not want any beating around the bush. Therefore, I will also be direct- I do not feel that you should be blamed for what happened. I just think that you should try to interact more with your crew. I also think that you need to get your priorities straight. Good night, Squadron Leader".
You wish Howe, and lie down on your bed, thinking about the lost and Howe's words. You open a communication channel to S'rofh. He responds. You exchange pleasantaries, but you notice the tone of his voice.
S'rofh says, "I presume you called me to discuss what happened today?"
[[You say, "Yes, I did. I know I was negligient then. I know I did not bother to take your feelings into account. I know I acted unprofessionally. But in my defence, this was my first command. I could not know that this would happen. I just wanted to say, I am sorry."|Part 2 Ending #6]]
[[You say, "Yes, I did call you to discuss that. You may have avoided casualties, but your earlier negligience and lack of attention to the mission at hand may imply that you are, at least presently, unfit for command. It may have been your first mission, but you did pass the captaincy exam, and it would reflect poorly on CSF to allow you to keep your command. S'rofh looks at you, and sighs. Nodding, he says, "I... accept your apology, Squadron Leader. As angry as I am at you, I see that your words are earnest. I am willing to withdraw my complaint. But this would be your last chance, Squadron Leader. I take my duty very seriously, and I cannnot respect a leader who does not do the same".S'rofh replies, "Now, why should I do that? We cannot have a captain who spends their time getting distracted by pretty sights and takes their job lightly. How could you have done that? How could you even think of doing such a thing"?

Your failure to realise your mistake in this proves to me that you may very well do this again".
[[You say, "Do you think that I don't feel regret for what I did? I may say that we barely wasted any time, but I also acknowledge that my priorties were wrong, and that I took the mission casually. Does that mean that I should be forever punished for a mistake I made on the first mission of my first command?"|Part 2 Ending #4 and #5]]
[[You say, "I made no mistake. You are just being overly sensitive and trying to blame me for your Baq'shi's death. Get over it"|Part 2 Ending #3]]
