Okay, so you have twine up and runnning. And your all stoked and ready to work! But, uh, you have, no idea how this is run! How do I work this! You cry to the ether. Now what?\n\n[[Forget this jam. |End]]\n[[Look up tutorials on the internet. |Tutorial]]\n
You scratch your head in confusion. Finally you just give up. You suck down a bit of soda and then crash in bed. The next day the motivation is gone and you don't feel like anything. You hang your head in failure and cry softly into your laptop. If only there was someone who coulda tought you to Twine good. Oh well.
You browse YouTube for what seems for hours. Yet you always seem to be watching the same thing over and over. You scratch your head in confusion. Finally you just give up. You suck down a bit of soda and then crash in bed. The next day the motivation is gone and you don't feel like anything. You hang your head in failure and cry softly into your laptop. If only there was someone who coulda tought you to Twine good. Oh well.
The next day you push up your story. Tired but happy that you made something at least. You start to check the comments and ratings. They're all in the usual range. Oh well. At least your consistent in your work. Right? And the best part? You can play and rate those other jam games now! Well done you!
Quick! There's a big game jam going on this weekend and you just found your motivation! You have less then a day and a half to come up with something. You can't draw, program, heck, you can't even make music. But making something is better then making nothing at all. Okay, fine, at least this way you'll be able to rate games.\n\n[[Forget this jam. |End]]\n[[Boot up Twine. |Twine]]\n\n\n\n
Sucking up your pride, you start to go through the material. It's actually really good and simple! You quickly learn to write pages and add them to a scene, and how to test your scene in a browser. You look at the clock, an HOUR has gone by already!? GOOD GRIEF! You need to add story and structure to your game! \n\n[[Forget this jam. |End]]\n[[Use the story about a cat and a spaceship you had from earlier. |Ship]]\n
So you decide to get working on your story. But you want to give the player some sort of score. But, as far as you know, Twine can't do that sort of thing. You look back on that well written tutorial, oh, the page scrolls down, eh heh. \n\n[[Forget this jam. |End]]\n[[Learn more. |Scroll]]\n
It seems Twine is capable of a lot more then you thought. You can add images (but, you can't draw remember?). You can also set varaibles, it looks pretty simple though, you might be able to handle that. Oh wow. If statements? Strings? Booleans? What's this CSS thing? OH GOD more programming? Great, no, no no, let's just keep it simple!\n\n[[Forget this jam. |End]]\n[[Write a love story between an alien cat and alien spider. |Spider]]\n
There's not much it seems. What does come up isn't very good. And there's only a few video tutorials too. Ugh. Even though at this point, your feeling really stressed for time and need to make a snap decision. Oh wait a minute, here's an article from a game developer on how to use twine, oh, wait, it's from a woman, crap. How could a woman possibly know anything about making games? So now what?\n\n[[Forget this jam. |End]]\n[[Suck up your pride. |Read]]\n[[Go on YouTube and browse for how to videos. |VideoEnd]]\n
